Learners in today's information society face new obstacles in the classroom as a consequence of liberalisation, privatisation, and globalization's impact on the economy as a whole and the technology culture that has emerged as a result. Universities abroad, private schools, and multinational firms are all ramping up their marketing efforts to lure top students and employees as they prepare to compete on the international stage. In this context, it is clear that Indian universities and other institutions of higher education must take decisive action to improve the quality of their programmes in order to compete internationally and retain the best faculty and students.
