Abstract

The unprecedented health crisis of COVID19 has affected almost every aspect of life. It was first diagnosed in Wuhan, China in December 2019 and quickly spread to all parts of the world, turning into an economic and humanitarian crisis. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared COVID19 a pandemic on March 11, 2020. Due to the outbreak of the epidemic, the education system is suffering an extraordinary double shock: Since March 2020, schools in 180 countries/regions have been temporarily closed to prevent the spread of the epidemic. The virus also exposed the fragility of the global education system. The expected slowdown in global growth caused by this educational disruption and economic recession has had a profound impact on the most disadvantaged students who face fragile socioeconomic family conditions. Suspension not only prevents students from learning new things, it also causes students to forget what they have learned before.
